Job Description
This Aviation Mechanic role offers the opportunity to work on aircraft from nose to tail, gaining broad, hands-on experience across airframe and powerplant systems in a fast-paced, scheduled maintenance environment. You will perform comprehensive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair tasks in accordance with company policies, manufacturer recommendations, and Federal Aviation Regulations, while contributing to safe and reliable operations for a regional turboprop fleet.
Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of maintenance activities on aircraft in accordance with company policies, manufacturer’s recommendations, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair airframe and powerplant components and systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Document all work performed accurately and thoroughly in compliance with company procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and best practices.
- Tow aircraft as required and perform minor maintenance on ground support equipment (GSE) when needed.
- Interpret and follow policy documents, repair manuals, and safety manuals to perform maintenance tasks correctly.
- Support heavy maintenance and scheduled checks, including inspection, quality checks, and functional testing of systems.
- Use mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues on turbo prop, general aviation, and regional aircraft.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings as needed for repair and maintenance work.
Essential Skills
- Valid FAA Aircraft Mechanic certificate with Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
- At least 1 year of experience working on Saab 340B, Embraer 120, Beechcraft 1900, Beechcraft 99, or similar regional turboprop aircraft.
- Experience working with turbo prop aircraft, general aviation aircraft, or regional aircraft.
- Proficiency in aircraft maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and heavy maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform detailed inspections, quality checks, and functional testing on aircraft systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
- Successful completion of required Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screening and other applicable checks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience with Beechcraft 99 and Beechcraft 1900, Embraer EMB120, Saab 340, and similar regional turboprop aircraft is preferred.
- Previous experience with GE T700/CT7, PT6A, PW118, and TPE331 series powerplants is preferred.
- Aviation schooling or formal aviation maintenance training.
- Experience working on turbo prop aircraft in a Part 135 environment.
- Experience as an A&P Mechanic or Maintenance Technician in aviation.
Work Environment
This role is based at a hangar located at DFW Airport, with both indoor and outdoor working conditions typical of an active maintenance facility. You will work in a Part 135 station environment, supporting scheduled and heavy maintenance on regional turboprop aircraft.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
