We are seeking an experienced A&P aircraft mechanic to join our team in Harlingen. Our repair station specializes in servicing General Aviation Aircraft, including annual inspections and phase inspections. Additionally, we have acquired Hunt Pan Am in Brownsville, Texas, and have resumed aircraft maintenance operations at that operation. The aircraft maintenance facility has been rebuilt, and new offices have been constructed. We are looking to fill positions in both Brownsville and Harlingen.
**Job Requirements:**
**Aircraft Maintenance Position:**
- Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in General Aviation Maintenance.
- Engage in a variety of maintenance tasks on assigned aircraft and related systems, from basic to complex. This includes removing and installing panels and components, as well as performing repairs and sheet-metal work. Your expertise is vital for ensuring optimal performance and safety!
- Perform advanced aircraft mechanic duties and train junior technicians and apprentices in troubleshooting and repairs.
- Examine, disassemble, and inspect engines, parts, and other components for wear, warping, breaks, leaks, or other non-conformities. Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories using hand and power tools.
- Conduct service and maintenance on aircraft systems, including 100-hour and annual inspections, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, functional components, and parts, such as wings, fuselage, rigging, and hydraulic units.
- Test engine and system operations using testing equipment, while listening to engine sounds to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
- Remove and install engines (turbine or piston) from aircraft using a hoist or forklift.
- Disassemble and modify aircraft structures, systems, or components according to drawings, engineering orders, and technical publications (STCs).
- Evaluate aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to assess the feasibility and methods for repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tools as necessary.
- Work independently on projects when required.
Technicians must have a strong understanding of wiring diagrams and other installation documentation. Excellent computer skills are required. An FAA Airframe/Powerplant License is a plus but not mandatory, and previous holders of a Repairman License are also encouraged to apply.
