Job Title: Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician
Job DescriptionThis role offers an opportunity for an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician to support a growing maintenance, repair, and overhaul operation at Lexington, North Carolina (Davidson County Airport – EXX). You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and document maintenance and alterations on a variety of turbine and turboprop aircraft, with a strong focus on Raytheon and Cessna/Citation platforms. In addition to hands-on work on airframes such as Hawker Beechcraft 400A/XP, 800XP, King Air series, Citations, and Phenom 300, you will serve as a mentoring teammate who helps cultivate a collaborative, safety-focused, and high-performing hangar culture.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbine and turboprop aircraft, including Hawker Beechcraft 400A/XP, 800XP, King Air series, Citations, Phenom 300, and other corporate aircraft.
- Inspect aircraft structures, systems, and components to determine airworthiness and identify necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, engine, and avionics systems using sound judgment, technical expertise, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Diagnose and resolve discrepancies on Raytheon and Cessna/Citation product lines, ensuring timely and accurate corrective actions.
- Perform all maintenance and alterations in accordance with 14 CFR regulations, manufacturer guidance, and the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM).
- Ensure strict compliance with 14 CFR Part 145 regulations and applicable aviation safety standards in all maintenance activities.
- Leverage digital maintenance tracking systems and scheduling software to accurately input, update, and manage aircraft maintenance data.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all maintenance activities in compliance with FAA and internal documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with multiple teams and departments to optimize aircraft readiness, minimize downtime, and improve turnaround times.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues, leadership, and other departments to align on maintenance priorities and schedules.
- Deliver high-touch, professional service to internal and external stakeholders while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.
- Model a safety-first mindset by consistently following safety procedures, identifying hazards, and promoting safe maintenance practices.
- Mentor apprentices and peers by sharing technical knowledge, demonstrating best practices, and fostering safe, efficient, and constructive maintenance habits.
- Support a positive hangar culture by uplifting team morale, maintaining a professional presence, and encouraging collaboration.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment, including proper care and organization of personal tools and equipment.
- Manage multiple priorities in a high-urgency environment, working both independently and collaboratively under time pressure.
- Use digital platforms and maintenance software (such as Traxxall, Ebis, CAMP or similar) to support documentation, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrate responsiveness and accountability by making sound decisions, following through on commitments, and ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
Essential Skills- Minimum 8+ years of experience maintaining turbine and turboprop aircraft.
- Substantial hands-on maintenance experience with Raytheon aircraft and Cessna/Citation product lines.
- At least 8+ years of experience on Hawker and Beechjet aircraft.
- At least 8+ years of corporate aircraft maintenance experience; candidates with 8+ years of strong CRJ experience will also be considered due to similarity with Challenger aircraft.
- Proven experience with corporate aircraft heavy maintenance, including King Air, Hawker, Beechcraft, Citation, and Phenom platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting experience across mechanical, engine, and avionics systems on jets and turboprops.
- Valid and current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of 14 CFR Part 145 regulations and aviation safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform aircraft repair and maintenance in accordance with regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking programs such as Traxxall, Ebis, CAMP or similar digital systems.
- Ability to manage priorities in a high-urgency environment and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications- Inspection Authorization (IA) is preferred but not required.
- Raytheon and Cessna/Citation factory training is preferred.
- Experience in general aviation and corporate aviation environments.
- Background working with jets and turboprop engines in maintenance and repair settings.
- Experience with CRJ aircraft, particularly where skills are transferable to Challenger-type aircraft.
- Comfort using digital platforms for documentation, compliance tracking, and scheduling.
- Demonstrated adaptability and resilience when handling changing priorities and operational demands.
- Experience mentoring or training apprentices and peers in maintenance best practices.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to professional standards of conduct in the hangar.

Work Environment
This position is based at Lexington North Carolina Davidson County Airport (EXX) within a hangar and maintenance, repair, and overhaul environment focused on corporate aircraft, including Hawker Beechcraft, King Air, Cessna/Citation, Phenom, and similar jets and turboprops. The schedule follows a 4/10 structure with weekday shifts (for example, Monday through Thursday and Tuesday through Friday 10-hour shifts starting at 6:00 a.m.) and an additional weekend shift option on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The work involves hands-on maintenance using personal tools, maintenance tracking systems, and digital documentation platforms in a safety-critical setting. The hangar environment requires maintaining a clean, organized workspace and professional appearance while working around active aircraft, engines, and ground support equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
