Job Description:
Lead Mechanic A&P needed for a rapidly growing charter company.  We are looking for a strong, energetic leader who has Part 135 experience.  Our ideal candidate is driven, organized, and determined to achieve success while helping us build a world class culture.  The company began in 2019 with only 2 aircraft.  In the past 12 months, BellAir has added 5 jets with 5 more to be added by year end for a total of 12 aircraft.  Our plans are to double the
fleet in 2022! Our fleet includes CJ, CJ2, XL, Lear 60s, King Air 350, Encore, and expects to add the Hawker 400XP, Hawker 800XP, and Citation X in the coming months.  Our company is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
 
Must be able to repair and perform scheduled maintenance on all airplanes, follow Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements to perform inspections.  Reports directly to the Director of Maintenance.
Job Requirements:
 Duties/responsibilities:
-Perform regular maintenance on aircraft and ensures proper working condition of mechanical systems before flight
-Maintains records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and all reports related to parts or services
-Sheet metal repair as needed
-Identify and resolve mechanical problems based on visual inspections or reports from pilot and/or crew
-Inspects hoses and lubricates joints-replaces any with symptoms of needed repair
-Inspects and examines to identify cracks, corrosions, other defects in engines, wings, propellers, tails, etc.
- Consults maintenance manuals in order to identify correct operations and specifications needed to replace or repairs needed item.
 -Ability to work effectively as a team
-Installation of new parts to replace and/or repair defective or recalled parts, and to enhance the overall performance of the aircraft efficiently and to specifications
-Fully analyze all drawings, work orders, blueprints, and sketches to troubleshoot, repair and install product or part.  Detection of errors and corrects
through appropriate department protocols.
-Ability to give work time estimates and identify materials needed for task accuracy. 
-Ensures proper engine functions and operating systems via a variety of tests/tools.
 
Education/Experience:
-High school or equivalent
(Required)
-A&P mechanic certification by the FAA required
-Thorough working knowledge of current FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes.
 
Physical Requirements:
-Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in sometimes awkward positions and spaces
-Must be able to lift and pull objects up to 75 lbs.
-Must be able to work on scaffolding/ladders
-Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects
-Physical strength/manual dexterity needed to operate tools and/or make necessary repairs and adjustments
-Hearing must be such to test sounds and identify functioning levels of aircraft
