Summary
Provides support of Intermediate (I) level maintenance functions to facilitate comprehensive aviation maintenance support of Aircraft Armament Systems (AAS) assets at NAS Lemoore, CA in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Programs (NAMP), applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements.
Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting 700 Division 71C / 71D maintenance operations.
Essential Functions
- Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance including but not limited to BRUs and LAUs
- Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means
- Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
- Corrosion Control
- Troubleshooting
- Preservation and de-preservation
- Technical Directive (TD) compliance and modifications
Duties
- Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
- Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
- May lead and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanics
- Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs
- Perform and inspect airframe, flight control, hydraulic, pneumatic, and landing gear systems maintenance
- Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
- Document maintenance actions per NAMP requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Three or more years’ AAS maintenance experience required
- Must be able to work shift maintenance as required
- Must be able work flexible work-week schedules as required
- Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC).
- Secret clearance required
- Seven or more years AAS maintenance experience preferred
- Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) for AAS assets preferred
- Qualified and certified Ordnance CDI Team Leader IAW OPNAVINST 8023.24 and MCO 8023.3D preferred
- Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management course (C-555-0053) preferred
- Basic Corrosion Control preferred
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
