High School diploma required; Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance from an accredited institution
or Army Aviation maintenance officer.
Experience: Fifteen or more years of full-time work experience in the
field of Aviation Maintenance, or five years of teaching experience in Aviation
Maintenance. Military Aviator/Private Pilot.
C. Specific knowledge,
skill, and ability requirements: Aviation maintenance experience that includes
a general knowledge of all aircraft systems, airframe, electrical, engine, etc.
Depot level aviation maintenance experience. Avionics/navigation system maintenance
experience. Ability to work and communicate effectively as a member of a team
and with foreign students. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student
population. Development, evaluation and revision of training materials.
Demonstrated involvement in process improvement, developing new processes and
technology in the field. Acceptance of the responsibility to promote the
welfare and best interests of students and the Aviation Directorate at all
times. Ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with
applicable laws, regulations and goals of the Aviation Institute of Training.
Possess a valid driver’s license. DD214 required for military experience. Must
be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that
include medical, drug testing, background checks, etc.
