Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on professional for the position of Aeronautical Structures Designer to join our Engineering team in Mississauga, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for the structural design of various aircraft system installations within the framework of new MC2/ADS programs.  The successful candidate will report directly to the design manager, contributing to the development and optimization of aircraft structural solutions.  Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop 3D Design of structural modifications, including new equipment and antennas installations using SolidWorks. Create Model Based Definition and/or detailed drawings of the structural components.Ensure the design meets the applicable specification requirements, and appropriate industry regulations including CAR, FAR or CS.Work with existing aircraft structures and systems architecture to develop and optimized design solutions.Efficiently review existing design and using that data to evolve or optimize that design.Survey aircraft to determine the best design solution for modification.Review internal drawings for technical accuracy.Collaborate effectively with other technical groups and end users.Clearly communicate and justify design decisions.Seek guidance from senior engineering staff when appropriate. Work effectively as part of the Design Team, but also as a member of the broader Engineering Department.QualificationsBachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in aeronautical or aerospace structural design. Experience with afterspanet aircraft modification programs is considered a strong asset. Proficiency in mechanical design practices. Skills Strong  aircraft structural design experience with solid CAD skills (Solidworks, Autodesk AutoCad).Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Creative problem-solving in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
