Job Title: Test Technician - Hydraulic Acuators
Job Description
The Test Technician supports the assembly, validation, and qualification testing of hydraulic and electromechanical actuation products. In this role, you build and use test fixtures and rigs, assemble units, run acceptance tests, and ensure all test instrumentation remains properly calibrated and maintained. You contribute directly to the reliability and performance of aerospace components by executing hands-on testing and documenting results with accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble test fixtures and rigs for hydraulic and electromechanical actuation products.
- Set up, configure, and run tests on hydraulic and electromechanical assemblies according to established procedures.
- Perform acceptance testing on products and accurately document test results with a high level of detail and completeness.
- Verify calibration and certification status of test instrumentation before use and coordinate maintenance or recalibration as needed.
- Support external laboratory testing activities when required, including preparing parts, fixtures, and documentation.
- Perform basic machining operations such as using a drill press, Bridgeport mill, deburring, and polishing to fabricate or adjust fixtures and components.
- Use precision measurement and test equipment, including micrometers, dial indicators, oscilloscopes, and power supplies, to verify product performance and conformance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and apply GD&T principles to ensure correct setup, measurement, and testing.
- Follow AS9100 quality system procedures and documentation requirements throughout all testing and fabrication activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-controlled work area and adhere to all safety and laboratory rules.
- Collaborate with the Group Lead and team members in a fast-paced environment to meet production and testing schedules.
- Troubleshoot basic issues with test setups, fixtures, or units under test and communicate findings to the appropriate team members.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electromechanical and hydraulic actuation products.
- At least 1 year of experience in machining and fabrication of test rigs, fixtures, and related hardware.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and mechanical systems in a testing or production environment.
- Ability to set up, validate, and run acceptance tests on hydraulic and electromechanical equipment.
- Proficiency with precision measurement and instrumentation, including micrometers, dial indicators, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and apply GD&T principles in a test and fabrication environment.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and associated documentation practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience fabricating and adjusting custom test fixtures and rigs for hydraulic and electromechanical components.
- Comfort working with schematic diagrams and test equipment setups.
- Ability to support external laboratory testing, including preparing samples and coordinating logistics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment.
- Ability to work effectively within a structured aerospace quality and documentation framework.
- Willingness to work flexibly across different shifts based on business needs.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with a Group Lead and a cross-functional team.
Why Work Here?
You join a specialized aerospace operation where your hands-on skills directly support high-precision, safety-critical products. The team culture emphasizes collaboration, mentorship under an experienced Group Lead, and the ability to grow your technical capabilities in testing, machining, and quality systems. You work in a stable, organized environment with clear processes, opportunities for overtime, and exposure to advanced aerospace manufacturing and test practices.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, day-shift role, typically Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with a standard schedule of 07:00 to 15:30 and opportunities for overtime. Flexibility to work 2nd or 3rd shift (starting around 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm, respectively) may be required based on business needs. The inspection lab is well lit, temperature and humidity controlled at approximately 66–70°F, and organized into individual workstations with surface plates, PCs, stools, and anti-fatigue mats. The area is FOD controlled, so food and snacks are not allowed at workstations, and drink containers must have sealable lids; a separate break area with microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee machines is available. You work hands-on in the test area within a collaborative team of around 40 people on site, under the guidance of a Group Lead, in a fast-paced aerospace environment. The dress code is casual but neat, with no clothing that has holes or offensive content, and requires closed-toe shoes and protective eyewear for safety.
