The purpose of this job is to ensure continued airworthiness and mission readiness of three (3) Sheriff's Department helicopters and one (1) county-owned helicopter.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs/leads a range of flight section maintenance and repairs, including scheduling routine maintenance, conducting diagnostic tests, completing major mechanical repairs and overhauls, repairing structural defects, and installing, and maintaining specialized equipment to maintain mission readiness and airworthiness of aircraft.
- Maintains/submits a variety of required records, including records of flight time on engines, airframes, and other aircraft parts in conformance with FAA requirements and sound safety practices.

Working Conditions:
Working conditions for this class involve exposure to chemicals, being around moving machinery, exposure to extreme changes in temperature/humidity, and exposure to dust, gases, and fumes.
