Job Description:
About the role:
UAC A&P Mechanics are primarily assigned to either our Piston team or our Turbine team, but may flex to the other team if needed. We take care of aircraft based at GNV, of transient aircraft, and of UAC's Charter and Flight School fleet. Our A&P's perform routine scheduled maintenance and diagnose and repair damaged aircraft.  We serve as Gainesville Regional Airport's 24 hour on-call maintenance.  All tasks are completed with safety in mind.  A&P's must maintain accurate records of work performed and follow all FAR and UAC policies, manuals, procedures and requirements.

About you:
You are detail oriented and you never cut corners.  You love working with machines.  You are familiar with basic FARs and able to follow technical instructions.  You are precise and neat and you take great pride in a job well done.  You enjoy being part of a team but you are confident working alone.  You ask questions when you need help and you listen and learn when they are answered.  You enjoy working in an airplane hangar and you are comfortable on ladders, under and inside airplanes.  You have good common sense and you appreciate the responsibility that comes with working on planes.  You are enthusiastic about serving others and embrace excellence in all aspects of your life.

About us:
University Air Center (UAC) is a family-owned aviation company headquartered in Gainesville, FL. In addition to serving Gainesville Regional Airport as the sole fixed-base operator (FBO), UAC operates a Part 135 charter airline, a Part 141 flight school, a Cessna and Cirrus certified aircraft maintenance and repair facility, and a Garmin avionics dealership. UAC’s fleet of 20 aircraft includes Citation and Eclipse jets, an Aztec multi-engine, Cessna and Piper pistons, a Robinson helicopter, a Cessna Caravan, and Cirrus SR-22s.

We pride ourselves in being a vital community asset. Our Charter team flies over 1,400 medical missions each year for multiple transplant programs as well as supporting the safety and availability of the southeastern US blood and tissue supply. Our flight school grows the careers of future pilots and our Maintenance team is trusted by both commercial and private pilots alike to keep their planes in top running form. Additionally, we serve the commercial, military, and general aviation communities providing fuel and line services on a 24/7/365 basis.  At UAC our primary focus is taking care of our team.  We know if we take care of our team, our team will take care of our customers and then our customers will take care of our bottom line.
Job Requirements:
