Job Description:

The employee shall work as part of a forward deployed (CONUS) modification team under the direction of a Tyonek Team Leader to successfully implement/install/test the Tyonek-developed Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) on a UH-1N. The employee is responsible for contributing to overall modification team success by serving as an electrical subject matter expert in the execution of tasks to include, but not limited to removal and reinstallation of existing aircraft wiring, aircraft instrumentation, installation of new harnesses and HUMS specific wiring as required. Electricians are a critical member of the team as the Team Leader relies on their skills to drive the modification schedule. Successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction. Employee will be required to comply with both host facility safety and quality regulations/requirements as well as all applicable Tyonek quality and safety policies to ensure program success.

Duties

  • Responsible for technical input and execution of tasks assigned by Team Leader within quality, and schedule constraints.
  • Comply with engineering specifications and maintenance instructions in accordance with USAF Technical Orders (TO's), Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO's), and Tyonek developed installation procedures
  • Remove and/or replace aircraft wiring to include but not limited to instrumentation, previously installed modifications, sensors, connectors and Line Replaceable Units (LRU's)
  • Serve as a critical member of the electrician team with tasks to include; clamping, splicing, terminating, and installing wires and harnesses throughout the aircraft
  • Interpret Technical Orders and Blueprints to support the installation of modification kit wiring I/A/W USAF and DoD standard wiring practices
  • Assist engineers and team leader with modification kit discrepancies and investigations
  • Execute post modification Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) to ensure functionality
  • Communicate concerns, issues, technical approach, and schedule related issues to Team Leader.
  • Demonstrate a solutions-focused approach to problem solving while identifying and resolving customer issues.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years military or combined related rotary wing maintenance experience
  • Must provide own hand tools, specialized tooling and test equipment shall be provided
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret or higher security clearance
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and/or schematics
  • Experience on UH-1 platform highly preferred
  • Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics Certification (A&P) desired
  • Must possess effective communication skills with experience in inter-discipline team environment desired

  • Must be able to distinguish color, shades of color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, crane, truck, tractor, etc
  • Work in an inside/outside environment to include working around machinery, objects, vehicles, ladders, and scaffolds.
