A&P Maintenance Technician positions must have a combination of experience to repair powerplant sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions.

DUTIES

  • Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, powerplant and aircraft system
  • Perform all airframe, powerplant and propeller repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements
  • Removal and disassembly of defective parts; assembly and installation of replacement parts; testing of aircraft systems
  • Able to perform phase checks, troubleshooting and line maintenance
  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine best method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, engineering orders and technical publications
  • Perform maintenance IAW FAA approved technical data
  • Follow all FAA guidelines when performing maintenance tasks
  • Find, troubleshoot and fix problems that have been reported by pilots
  • Help coordinate and facilitate off-site maintenance for aircraft located away from home base
  • Keep accurate records of work performed
  • Work overtime or on-call weekend shift as needed
  • Exhibit a willingness to travel onsite to aircraft if necessary
  • Complete any other tasks assigned by Lead Maintenance Tech or DOM
  • This position is currently stationed in Jacksonville, FL, but must be open to travel anywhere nationwide.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A&P license with a minimum of 3 years of commercial experience required
  • Willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and / or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; Mission requirements and / or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime)
  • Must be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • This position is subject to DOT drug testing.

  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
  • Expected to work in high heat or extreme cold temperatures for extended periods of time.
  • May operate in austere CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Ability to wear a full face or forced air respirator.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Availability/ability to work different shifts if needed
