Position Summary
Under the supervision of the team lead, the Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and returning to service mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural systems of aircraft, in compliance with Transport Canada regulations and client specifications.
Main Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, and structural systems.
- Diagnose malfunctions and carry out repairs following technical manuals and approved standards.
- Install, replace, and overhaul aircraft components.
- Perform and record functional tests after maintenance.
- Maintain technical logs and maintenance records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Use precision instruments and specialized tools to ensure system conformity.
- Collaborate with avionics technicians, engineers, and quality inspectors.
- Comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (production or MRO environment).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with strict attention to safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a regulated, high-precision production environment.
Working Conditions
- Work performed in hangar and production line environments.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment.
- Possible shift work (day, evening, weekend).
Preferred Qualifications and or Skills:
- Experience with Twin Otter aircraft and system is considered an asset
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
- Flexibility to change shifts is required.
