Position Overview

The Aircraft Mechanic II performs advanced maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft systems and structures supporting VFA-125 operations at NAS Lemoore. This role requires leadership, technical skill, and the ability to ensure aircraft meet mission readiness standards in a demanding naval aviation environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft engines, structural components, hydraulics, electrical, and powertrain systems.
• Lead and mentor junior mechanics; inspect and approve work performed by Aircraft Mechanic I personnel.
• Provide input for Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD), and Modification Work Orders (MWO).
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with all Navy and contractual standards.
• Utilize specialized tools and equipment (e.g., torque wrenches, micrometers, and sheet metal brakes).

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or military aviation training preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including troubleshooting, systems maintenance, and structural repair.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft technical publications, maintenance procedures, and safety compliance.
• Experience supporting Navy jet aircraft (F/A-18 series preferred) a plus.
• Ability to prioritize work, lead maintenance teams, and support mission-critical operations.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred but not required.
• U.S. citizenship required due to government contract specifications.
