23022 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC II


This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures’ manuals.


Job requirements: must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.

TASK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Performs routine aircraft maintenance functions
  • Must demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines and component parts
  • Operates aircraft towing equipment in towing operations. Maintains aircraft hydraulic systems
  • Must have knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance
  • Must be able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems
  • Performs troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems, including fuel, oil and hydraulic systems
  • Overhauls aircraft components and sub-components.
  • Performs functional checks, inspections, troubleshooting as required and trained
  • Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment
  • Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 90 days after assignment
  • High school diploma or equivalent--General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • Must be skill qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6113/6173, Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Power plant Certification.
  • Must have four (4) years minimum experience rotary wing aircraft

Compensation

$39.11/hour

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.41 for every hour worked up to 40 hours per week.

Employees are able to enroll in KAI’s 401k plan.  Employees have a minimum of eleven paid holidays.  Employees accumulate 1 hour of Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors for every 30 hours worked up to 56 hours per year. After completing one year of service, employees will have two weeks paid vacation.

Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
