Hours of Operation:

  • Day shift: Mon-Fri; 0700-1600
  • Swing Shift: Mon-Fri; 1500-2400
  • Mid Shift: Sun-Thurs; 2300-0800

Equipment: U-2

  • Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance.
  • Processes the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported.
  • Capable of performing, supervising, and inspecting the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs and IIIs.
  • A person in this position maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
  • This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
  • Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of noncomplex electrical systems.
  • A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
  • Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

Aircraft Mechanic III (Avionics) WG-2610 equivalent

Performs Integrated systems testing, calibration, alignment, troubleshooting and repair of airborne electronic flight control, navigational and heading, and communication systems on all weapon systems listed in para 2.1.

  • Installs electronic systems, components, or subassemblies in aircraft.
  • Performs pretest, operational (functional) or final testing of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
  • Performs the final tuning, alignment or calibration of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
  • Troubleshoots electronic systems, components, or subassemblies to determine nature of malfunction and corrective action required.
  • Interprets error data in order to properly install integrated electronic systems with minimum downtime.
  • Tests integrated electronic systems by thoroughly analyzing operating trends and ensuring any repairs needed are accomplished without undue delay.
  • Uses automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to test complete electronic systems.
  • Accurately calibrates integrated electronic systems by thoroughly analyzing operating trends and ensuring systems alignment results in acceptable operating parameters.
  • Diagnose malfunctions of integrated systems by thoroughly analyzing operating trends and ensuring repairs are accomplished without undue delay.

WAGE: $41.98
Additional Rate: Health and welfare of $6.00 for each hour worked to be used for medical expenses/health benefits, any unused funds will roll over into a 401k at the end of the year.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 Years on platform is preferred, and/or 3 years in AMIII career field.
  • Authorized to clear Red X primary system.
  • Authorized to accomplish in-progress inspections (IPI) primary system.
  • Authorized to remove warning/danger tags.
  • Authorized to sign condition tags.
  • 6 of 6 personnel authorized to verify Not Repairable This Station (NRTS)
  • 1 of 6 personnel authorized tow vehicle operator.
