Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced aircraft mechanic contractor to support the build and maintenance of BAE Hawk aircraft at our Ellington location. This role is a 4–6 month contract with the potential to transition to full-time upon project completion. Responsibilities include performing hands-on maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and modifications in accordance with company standards and technical manuals. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Repair, replace and rebuild aircraft structures, system, and functional components.
- Assemble and install electrical, avionic, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components and accessories using hand tools and power tools.
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive maintenance schedules to maintain optimal performance and compliance with aviation safety regulations and industry standards.
- Remove and/or install aircraft components, test IAW MM, and troubleshoot aircraft systems.
- Conduct regular quality assurance audits and inspections to verify compliance with military and FAA standards, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
- Service, repair, troubleshoot and modify aircraft and aircraft engines.
- Perform storage and shipment requirements on engines and support equipment to include documentation.
- Repair, rework and replace components or parts of CFSE to ensure proper operation.
- Refer to workbooks and technical publications to determine specifications to be met.
- Perform routine support equipment inspections and maintains and performs necessary corrective actions to include unscheduled maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections, repairs, modifications, and component tracking in accordance with regulatory and internal documentation procedures.
- Collaborate with aircraft maintenance teams to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and replacements, minimizing downtime and maximizing fleet availability.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in aviation life support and egress systems; integrate best practices into operational procedures.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and compliance protocols.
- Comply with all company, OSHA and customer safety regulations.
- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely sourcing and availability of parts, equipment, and consumables necessary for mission support.
- Load and download aircraft weapons systems.
- Have or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
