Job Description
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and non-routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on the airlines fleet in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and compliance. The successful candidate will be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals, complete required documentation, and communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Read and utilize blueprints, maintenance manuals, ATA codes, illustrated parts catalogs, service bulletins, and other maintenance documents to troubleshoot and complete work assignments.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, repairs, and alterations of aircraft, including engines, power plants, and components, in accordance with FAA, manufacturer, and company standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections of aircraft systems (e.g., hydraulic systems, de-icing, landing gear, etc.) for leaks, cracks, distortions, foreign object damage, and other irregularities.
- Perform inspections during assembly of parts and after repairs or component installations.
- Accurately document maintenance procedures, discrepancies, and corrective actions in maintenance logs and records, ensuring compliance with FAA and company documentation requirements.
- Run diagnostic tests, interpret results, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Essential Skills
- A&P License
- 2+ years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Technical expertise in aircraft maintenance
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Heavy maintenance experience on CRJ or ERJ aircraft
- Commercial heavy maintenance or line maintenance on regional jets
- Military experience with a license

Work Environment
Work in a non-climate controlled aircraft hangar complex at Smyrna Airport, located 20 miles from Nashville. The environment can be dirty, cold in the winter, and hot in the summer. Mechanics may often need to walk outside between hangars. Candidates should be open to working either 1st shift (5:30 AM - 4:00 PM) or 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 12:30 AM), with possible schedules of Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
