Morson Edge is recruiting Aircraft Ground Equipment Technicians to support a major Tornado maintenance programme in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly experienced engineering team supporting operational military aircraft within a well-established aviation environment. While aircraft may take centre stage, reliable Ground Support Equipment is critical to every successful maintenance activity and flying operation.
Working within the Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE) facility, you’ll play a key role in ensuring specialist support equipment remains available, serviceable, and ready to support Tornado maintenance and operational requirements.

The Role
Reporting to the AGE Supervisor, you will undertake both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on Aircraft Ground Equipment supporting Tornado operations.
You will ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
The role combines fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, workshop activities, and operational support within a demanding and rewarding engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Activities
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Aircraft Ground Equipment
- Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical faults
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with approved procedures and standards
- Support the availability and serviceability of AGE assets
- Maintain workshop tooling and equipment
- Ensure calibration requirements are met and maintained
Operational Support
- Assist in supporting flying and maintenance operations
- Provide standby support where operationally required
- Ensure equipment readiness to meet programme requirements
- Support squadron and maintenance activities through effective equipment management
Quality & Safety
- Implement FOD prevention and housekeeping standards
- Utilise electronic maintenance management systems correctly
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality procedures
- Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records and documentation
Training & Development
- Support the development of engineering personnel
- Provide guidance and technical assistance where required
- Share best practice and engineering knowledge across the team
Essential Requirements
- ONC qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong electrical engineering knowledge
- Experience fault-finding and maintaining electrical systems
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of engineering safety procedures
Desirable Experience
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience
- Aerospace or defence industry background
- Experience working within military aviation environments
- Familiarity with RAF and/or RSAF engineering procedures
- Previous Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE) experience
- Plant maintenance experience
