About the RolePDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to support a leading aerospace company in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you’ll apply advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, and test aircraft systems that go far beyond the basics. From avionics and radar to electronic warfare systems, your expertise will ensure mission readiness and help deliver excellence to critical aerospace programs.
What You’ll DoApply advanced troubleshooting skills to complex electrical and avionics issues beyond standard manuals
Perform aircraft bench and flight line testing, inspection, and troubleshooting
Assemble, install, and modify wire bundles and systems on advanced fighter platforms
Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and test equipment to ensure quality compliance
Diagnose malfunctions and incorporate engineering changes as needed
Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced mechanics; may lead small teams
Support cost and schedule targets by collaborating across disciplines (mechanical, structures, electrical)
Ensure compliance with all safety, hazardous energy, and Lock Out/Tag procedures
Perform duties onsite in a hands-on aerospace environment
Basic Qualifications8+ years of experience working from schematics, specifications, and assembly drawings
8+ years of experience with aircraft computer systems and standard office software
Experience with F-15 or other fighter platforms
Hands-on experience with aircraft avionics systems (Comm/Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, Electronic Warfare)
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with EPAWSS modification
Experience working with COMSEC, Radar, or Electronic Warfare Systems
Previous fighter platform expertise
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 35 lbs. and work in elevated or confined spaces
Comfortable with climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and exposure to noise/solvents
Capable of working in a production environment with frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and tool use

Pay Details: $40.00 per hour
