Job Objective


The Aircraft Quality Inspector is responsible for working with the Director of Maintenance Part 145/Accountable Manager to ensure that the work carried out in the Part 145 Repair Station is in accordance with the Companys certificate authority.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for maintaining Work Order Books for work being performed
  • Perform inspection functions of the repair station as outlined, in accordance with the Part 145 Repair Station
  • Ensure that all inspections and discrepancies are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for ground runs, flight checks or returned to service
  • Ensure that the proper inspection and maintenance records, reports, and forms required for such release are correctly executed and that all discrepancies have proper supporting documentation
  • Conduct preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspection of all items processed by the repair station and record results as outlined in the Part 145 Repair Station Manual
  • Make progressive and on-going inspections at various stages of Teardown, Overhaul, and Repair of all Units or Components received by the Part 145 Repair Station for service
  • Ensure that rejected or unserviceable parts/components are handled in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts
  • Ensure that no defective, unserviceable, or un-airworthy parts are installed on any article released by the Part 145 Repair Station
  • Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in the Quality Control Manual (RSQM)
  • Ensure familiarity of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer’s procedures/recommendations, and other pertinent data as it relates to the item of work being performed
  • Provide training and technical assistance to others

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Inspection Authorization preferred

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged standing as well as walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling
  • Frequent use of hands and wrists
  • Climbing heights on various equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor shop with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures *Must provide and utilize personal tools required to complete essential functions
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
  • Moderate to loud noise level

Work Status, Schedule, & Travel

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm, Friday 7:00am-12:00pm
  • Overtime necessary depending on workload
  • No travel required
