Aircraft Structures Assembler - Mobile, AL
Job Description:

PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking experienced Aircraft Structures Assemblers to support aircraft manufacturing operations in Mobile, Alabama. This role is responsible for the structural installation, assembly, repair, and rework of aircraft components while ensuring compliance with production, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural installation of parts and major aircraft components within assigned workstations
  • Position and assemble components according to engineering drawings and production orders
  • Perform repair and rework activities, including correction of concessions and discrepancies
  • Conduct rework of external aircraft skin damage
  • Work in accordance with production orders, design documents, concessions, and inspection procedures
  • Review, examine, and organize work orders and engineering drawings
  • Prepare workstations for daily production activities
  • Prepare, submit, and resolve production queries; provide follow-up and feedback as required
  • Document completed work and ensure quality traceability
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and OSHA regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Aviation Production or equivalent industries such as:
    • Shipbuilding
    • Heavy Machinery
    • Automotive Manufacturing
    • Military Aviation
    • MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Drilling tools and machines
    • Templates and fasteners
    • Torqueing tools
  • Ability to successfully complete required training:
    • Health & Safety
    • General Aircraft Familiarization
    • Quality Training
  • Proficiency in blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation
  • Ability to use computers to enter, generate, and retrieve information (SAP and Excel required)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Aviation Production or equivalent industries
  • Vocational or employer-based training in application tools and assembly techniques
  • Completion of a Technology Certification or post-secondary technical training program
  • Knowledge of station safety, quality standards (Clean As You Go / FOD prevention), and OSHA requirements
  • Precision measurement skills using:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Depth gauges
    • Dial indicators
  • Torque specification knowledge (tightening to defined tolerances)
  • Experience following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Documentation experience including work sign-offs, part tracking, and lot control
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience including:
    • Cutting
    • Bending
    • Riveting
    • Deburring

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing / production floor environment
  • Multiple shifts available
  • Onsite position
