Job Description:
The Aircraft Structures Training Instructor is responsible for employment, safety and skills development proficiency training related to the structural repair of aircraft. This instructor conducts training relating to; required employee indoctrination, maintenance paperwork and documentation, maintenance and document management computer systems, shop and equipment, and skills, as well as other courses as required within guidelines set by the company, the customer and the Federal Aviation Administration. Develops training material in written, computer projected and computer based formats. Schedules courses, creates rosters, produces completion certificates, files records and updates training records database. Monitors recurrent training and schedules technicians to required classes prior to expiration. Must exercise good judgment in working with and leading people in a team environment. The Aircraft Structures Apprentice Training Instructor is responsible for safety, compliance and profitability in assigned function. Reports to the Supervisor of Training.

Job Requirements:
Required Job Skills
•High school diploma or GED
•Airframe license OR, 8 years of heavy aircraft structures maintenance experience (can be concurrent with the 5 yrs below) & a repairman’s certificate (or ability to obtain one)
•Excellent technical writing ability
•Verbal, written and presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions with diverse individuals and/or groups of varying size; ability to develop proficiency in delivering prepared training programs as well as development of presentation/training materials
•Proven ability to simplify complex technical subject matter
•Excellent computer skills - specifically in the use of MS Office applications
•Effectively speak, read and write in the English language
•Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees.
•Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in FAR 121 or 145 or foreign operator environments as a technician, inspector or maintenance instructor.
•Must have excellent knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and Air Transport Association specifications as they relate to aircraft maintenance and aircraft maintenance training
•Ability to demonstrate public speaking capability during the interview process.
•Be self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
•Willing and able to work various shifts and weekends if necessary to complete training
•Three (3) years minimum heavy aircraft structural repair (can be concurrent with 5 above).
•Excellent working knowledge of all aspects of structural repair and documentation of transport category aircraft.
•Current satisfactory completion of Structures Assessment Project
•Valid State issued driver’s license
•Proficiency with computer based aircraft maintenance applications
•Ability to operate and train sheet metal fabrication and safety equipment necessary to conduct the job.

Preferred Job Skills

•Previous experience teaching 737, 757, 767, 777, A320, EMB 140/145, EMB 170/175 structures
•Previous experience teaching commercial aircraft Structural repair manuals
•Previous experience in computer based training development
•Previous classroom instruction experience for an FAR 121 or 145 operation
•Two years’ experience in a Management position
•College degree in technical field

Physical Requirements

•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
•Ability to stand and speak for long periods of time
•Ability to climb stairs
•Ability to climb into and work around aircraft in both climate controlled hangar and extreme weather environments such as found in line maintenance
