Job Description:

A growing aircraft modernization and heavy maintenance facility is seeking experienced Structures Mechanics to support high-level sheet metal repairs, structural modifications, and installation work on specialized aircraft platforms. This role focuses extensively on major structural rework, fabrication, and modification support for mission-ready aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform heavy structural repairs and modifications on aircraft fuselage, bulkheads, formers, skins, doublers, stringers, frames, doors, floors, and control surfaces.
  • Carry out fabrication, drilling, riveting, and precision fitting using layout tools, structural equipment, and approved repair techniques.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, structural repair manuals (SRMs), service bulletins, and engineering orders.
  • Utilize sheet metal tools including rivet guns, squeezers, drills, countersinks, and pneumatic equipment for high-precision repairs.
  • Support aircraft modification programs involving structural upgrades, mission-equipment installations, and reconfigured airframe layouts.
  • Conduct damage assessments, perform accurate measurements, and document all repairs and rework.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Avionics teams to verify alignment, fit, and compliance with specs.
  • Ensure work meets all FAA, airworthiness, and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Pay: $36/hr + $890/week per diem split 
Second-Shift Differential: +$1.50/hr
Schedule: 4×10s, Monday–Thursday (First or Second Shift)

Experience Required: Minimum 6 years of heavy structural / sheet metal modification experience
Tools: Must provide own tools suitable for structural work

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 years of aircraft structural / sheet metal experience, including heavy maintenance or modification programs.
  • Strong ability to perform structural repairs such as drilling, riveting, forming, bending, and fabrication.
  • Proficiency reading SRMs, blueprints, and engineering instructions.
  • Must supply a personal set of tools required for aircraft structures work.
  • Capable of working assigned 4×10 schedule (Monday–Thursday).
  • Willing and able to work either first or second shift; second shift includes a $1.50/hr differential.
  • Must meet all compliance, safety, and quality requirements.
