Aircraft Structures Technician – B737 Starlink Wi-Fi Mods

Location: Birmingham, AL
Commercial MRO | Overtime Available

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Aircraft Structures Technicians to support a high-profile modification program in Birmingham, Alabama.

This position will primarily support B737 Starlink Wi-Fi modification installations, including structural modifications associated with connectivity system upgrades.

This is a hands-on MRO environment requiring strong sheet metal experience, blueprint interpretation, and structural repair knowledge.

Must be willing and able to work overtime (OT) as required to meet project deadlines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, repair, and replacement of aircraft sheet metal structures

  • Support B737 Starlink Wi-Fi modification projects

  • Modify aircraft skins, floor beams, mounting structures, and related components

  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals

  • Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components

  • Work with aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and composite materials

  • Perform drilling, riveting, structural repairs, and component installations

  • Complete work cards and required documentation accurately

  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company policies

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Aircraft maintenance training or equivalent experience

  • Strong sheet metal / structures experience in a commercial aircraft environment

  • Ability to read and interpret technical data and blueprints

  • Experience performing structural modifications and repairs

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights

  • Must be able to work overtime as required


Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching for extended periods

  • Working at heights and in aircraft fuel tank environments when required

  • Exposure to noise, temperature changes, and industrial equipment


Equipment Used

  • Rivet guns, drills, power shears, hydraulic press brake

  • Forming equipment and hand tools

  • Ladders, stands, lift equipment


Preferred Experience

  • B737 experience strongly preferred

  • Heavy modification or connectivity modification experience preferred

  • Commercial MRO environment experience
