Job Title: Aircraft Technician (A&P Mechanic)

Job Description

The Aircraft Technician will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on piston and turboprop aircraft, including models such as Cirrus, Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, and Mooney. The role focuses on diagnosing and resolving airframe, powerplant, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant aircraft operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on piston and turboprop aircraft in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Inspect aircraft to identify discrepancies and troubleshoot resulting “squawks,” determining appropriate repair actions.
  • Diagnose and repair airframe, powerplant, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems as required.
  • Work on a variety of general aviation aircraft, including Cirrus, Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, and Mooney models.
  • Perform line maintenance and heavy maintenance tasks on turbine and turboprop aircraft, including PT6-powered aircraft when applicable.
  • Use approved tools, equipment, and technical data to carry out maintenance and repair activities accurately and safely.
  • Document all maintenance performed in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and team members in the hangar to complete work efficiently and maintain high safety standards.
  • Support a clean, organized, and safe hangar environment by following all safety procedures and best practices.
  • Communicate clearly with leadership and peers regarding aircraft status, identified issues, and required parts or additional work.

Essential Skills

  • Valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on any aircraft type.
  • Hands-on experience performing aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and repairing airframe and powerplant systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on aircraft.
  • Mechanically inclined and capable of working effectively with tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals, maintenance documentation, and work orders.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work full-time hours Monday through Friday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • General aviation maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience working on turboprop aircraft is preferred.
  • Familiarity with aircraft such as Cirrus, Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, and Mooney is a plus.
  • Experience with PT6 engines and turboprop systems is beneficial.
  • Background in both line maintenance and heavy maintenance is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex aircraft issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a growing team of technicians.

Why Work Here?

You will join a growing and expanding aviation operation that offers a long-term opportunity for stability and professional development. The team is actively adding mechanics, creating room for growth, increased responsibility, and exposure to a wide variety of general aviation and turboprop aircraft. You will work in an environment that values technical expertise, hands-on craftsmanship, and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Work Environment

This role is based in a busy hangar environment that is not climate controlled, so you will work in varying temperatures throughout the year. You will be part of a team of approximately 13 mechanics with plans for continued growth. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour workday starting at either 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. The setting is hands-on and tool-driven, focused on maintaining and repairing a range of piston and turboprop aircraft in a collaborative shop atmosphere.
