Job Title: Aircraft TechnicianJob DescriptionJoin our team as an Aircraft Technician, where youll play a vital role in producing precision machined parts for aircraft components. You will be responsible for creating complex programs and fabricating workholding fixtures, ensuring optimal machining of precision parts in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Responsibilities- Layout process flows required to produce precision machined parts.
- Edit NC programs for the operation of multi-axis turning centers, 3 & 5 axis CNC machining centers, waterjet tables, and other supporting equipment.
- Select and request the required cutting tools for optimal machining of precision machine parts.
- Create complex programs to support operation of multi-axis lathes and machining centers for complex aircraft machined detail parts.
- Fabricate workholding fixtures to secure materials during machining operations.
- Use band saws, waterjet, and other related equipment to prepare raw materials.
- Operate mills, lathes, and other supporting equipment in the fabrication of precision machined parts.
- Inspect parts produced using precision metrology equipment and prepare reports for Quality review and acceptance.
- Select proper tooling, edit programs, and adjust speeds and feeds as required to optimize production.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain equipment and perform required preventive maintenance to ensure proper operation.
- Work in a productive and efficient manner and provide ideas for continuous improvement.
- Continuously improve job knowledge by participating in educational classes, reading technical publications, and cross-training.
Essential Skills- Minimum of 5 years experience in equivalent position, preferably in aerospace.
- Proficient in fixture/tool design for low quantity or prototype detail parts.
- Machining experience including manual and CNC multi-axis lathes, 3-5 axis mills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions.
- Knowledge of CADCAM (Gibbscam preferred) and model-based machining.
- Experience with FAA certification processes and requirements.
- Familiarity with AS9100 management systems and compliance requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Formal Journeyman, Apprentice training, or schooling preferred.
- Experience with FDM 3D printers and associated software and materials.
- Experience with CATIA environment, Insight software, GrabCAD Print software, and OMAX waterjet machine/software.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Greensboro, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.66 - $35.85/hr.
