Task Description:

Aircraft Worker (23080): The Aircraft Worker makes repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade worker, assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems, removes, cleans, reinstalls, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, and fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil lines, This worker may supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft, makes adjustments and settings such as cable tension and seat movement settings and adjustments; obtains standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and spark plug cables and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and by making comparisons with samples, may perform pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed, and services engines and aircraft components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.

Task Requirements:

  • Assists in aircraft maintenance functions of the Flight Line, Corrosion Control, and Organizational Level Maintenance Support.
  • Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for assigned H-60 aircraft
  • Performs inspection, disassembly, repair, servicing, TD compliance, modification, assembly, surface finish removal, corrosion control, preservation/de-preservation services
  • Maintain aircraft and aeronautical equipment to continuously support the assigned SAR readiness posture outlined in in the activities SAR Plan and daily flight schedule.
  • Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means
  • Assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems
  • Use hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers maintenance manuals, military technical manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, blueprints, manufacturers’ drawings, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Flight Line operations/functions at detachment locations as required
  • Confined space operations to include fuel cell entry
  • Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
  • Perform general housekeeping and organization of workstation(s), shop(s), maintenance facility to provide a clean, safe, and FOD free environment
  • Perform shift work and/or overtime as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four or more years rotary wing maintenance experience
  • Completed NATEC Course Automated Track and Balancing System (ATABS)
  • Previously certified Tire and Wheel
  • Previously certified Hydraulic Contamination
  • Previously certified H-60 Plane Captain
  • Basic Corrosion Control Course

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd or weekend shift as required
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule Mon-Fri or Sun-Thur. as required
  • Must be able to provide maintenance support for actual SAR missions within two hours of notification for weekends, holidays, and before/after normal services hours as required
  • Shall be able to travel in support of detachment operations as required
  • Must be able to work in an outside environment in different weather conditions
  • Must be able to wear required Personal protective equipment,
  • Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and work on top of and below aircraft.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools
  • Must have dexterity to handle small parts
  • Must be eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Satisfactory completion of T3/T3R National Agency Check Local Records Check and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI)

    resulting in eligibility for a SECRET clearance shall be required of employees assigned to perform:

- Maintaining MH-60S Avionics Systems

-Aircrewman

- Aviation Administration Personnel (AZ equivalents)

 

  • All other FTEs requiring access to Department of Navy (DON) IT systems or access to CUI will require a Favorable T3 investigation initiated by the Government GCA per 5510.30 series and NIMPSOMs and will be enrolled in Continuous Evaluation. All personnel will be vetted through the Contracting Officer Security Representative

 

Compensation

$30.39/hour

 

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour worked.

Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in KAI’s 401k plan.  Employees have a minimum of eleven paid holidays.  After completing one year of service, employees will have two weeks paid vacation.

 

Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
