Pilotsmith is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Instructor to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will hold valid Airframe and Powerplant ratings, have an active IA, and possess industry experience in GA aircraft maintenance. This individual will deliver initial hands-on and future classroom instruction to students. Must have a growth-based mindset that is collaborative and team-orientated. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging and effective instruction in accordance with high FAA standards.
- Hands-on approach initially to hone your teaching skills; Must be able to vary approach.
- Teach courses related to airframe systems, powerplant systems, general aviation maintenance, and other aviation topics as assigned.
- Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.
- Conduct lab and shop demonstrations, ensuring student safety and FAA compliance.
- Evaluate and monitor student performance, attendance, and progress.
- Maintain accurate records for student grades, attendance, and certifications.
- Support curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and instructional areas are properly maintained and safe.
- Participate in faculty meetings, training, and professional development activities.
- Good work ethic and attention to detail.
