Job Title: Aviation Maintenance Technician (Fast Track)

Job Description

This fast-track aviation maintenance role focuses on assembling, modifying, and repairing aircraft parts and components while preparing motivated individuals to obtain their Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license through an intensive six-week program. You will perform both mechanical and electrical tasks on aircraft, troubleshoot and correct malfunctions with and without power applied, and support safe, efficient operations in a busy service center environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and modify aircraft parts and components in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
• Inspect aircraft systems and components to identify malfunctions, deficiencies, or irregularities.
• Correct mechanical and electrical malfunctions or deficiencies with power applied and with power removed from the aircraft.
• Access, remove, and reinstall aircraft components that obstruct the performance of assigned maintenance and repair tasks.
• Perform basic mechanical removals and installations of aircraft parts, hardware, and assemblies.
• Perform basic electrical removals and installations, including wiring, connectors, and related components, following approved practices.
• Follow all maintenance documentation, work instructions, and technical data while performing repairs and modifications.
• Use appropriate tools, equipment, and test devices safely and effectively to complete assigned work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the service center at all times.
• Collaborate with other technicians and support staff to complete tasks on schedule and meet operational demands.
• Document work performed accurately and clearly in maintenance records and required forms.
• Participate actively in the six-week fast track program to build the knowledge and skills needed to obtain the A&P license.

Essential Skills

• Experience in aircraft maintenance, aviation maintenance, or repair of aircraft components.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical removals and installations on aircraft structures and systems.
• Ability to perform basic electrical removals and installations on aircraft systems.
• Familiarity with maintenance documentation, such as 8610-2 documents or similar aviation maintenance records.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and correct malfunctions and deficiencies on aircraft.
• Capability to work on aircraft with power applied and with power removed, following all safety procedures.
• Motivation to complete an intensive six-week fast track program aimed at achieving an A&P license.
• Attention to detail and commitment to performing high-quality, safe maintenance work.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy service center environment with customers present on the floor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Interest in obtaining an A&P license through a structured six-week fast track program.
• Prior hands-on experience with aviation maintenance, aircraft repair, or related mechanical trades.
• Experience working on military aircraft or similar complex aircraft platforms is beneficial.
• Familiarity with aviation maintenance documentation and regulatory forms, including 8610-2 documents.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, or weekends, as scheduled.
• Ability to relocate or commute to the Wichita, KS area; per diem may be available for eligible candidates located more than 150 miles from the worksite.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.00/hr.
