Position Summary
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a skilled and certified FAA Aviation Mechanic (A&P) to join our team in Mobile, Alabama. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing aircraft systems in compliance with FAA regulations and company standards. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, precision, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on aircraft systems in accordance with FAA-approved data.
- Ensure all work meets airworthiness standards and prioritizes flight safety.
- Accurately document maintenance activities on company and FAA-required forms.
- Use appropriate, calibrated tools and follow technical data during maintenance tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Participate in on-the-job training and follow supervisor instructions.
- Support additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Formal training in Airframe and Power Plant (A&P), with emphasis on Structures and Composites.
- 5-10 years of general aviation maintenance experience.
- Prior avionics experience is required.
- Familiarity with turboprop aircraft is a plus.
- Current FAA Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic license required.
- Proficient in English; Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and documentation.
Travel:
- Limited potential for domestic and international travel.
Work Environment & Compliance
- Adhere to all safety precautions including PPE, chemical handling, and fall protection.
- Maintain regular attendance as outlined in company policy.
- Follow all personnel and safety procedures.
