Avionics Electrical Assembler/Technician  (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Manufacturing - Experienced

Avionics Electrical Assembler/Technician compensation range(based on experience level)$18- $30/hr

Avionics Electrical Assembler I($18/hr-$20/hr)

  • Cut/strip wires, crimp terminals, solder, and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Use various hand tools such as strippers, cutters, crimpers, and soldering irons, wire routing boards, mark and strip machines, pliers, etc.
  • Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
  • Inspect and buy off own work using Piper inspection certifications.
  • Maintain the departments compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
  • Rework discrepancies as necessary.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
  • Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
  • Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
  • Performduties as assigned by supervisor.

Avionics Electrical Assembler II($21/hr-$23/hr)

  • Build electrical assemblies per serialized aircraft requirements using bus bars, circuit breakers, jumper wires, and related hardware.
  • Inspect and buy off other teammates work using Piper inspection certifications.
  • Conduct training and cross training of teammates to attain acceptable levels of performance.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
  • Ability to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
  • Adhere, maintain and assist teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
  • Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision.

Senior Avionics Electrical Assembler($23/hr-$25/hr)

  • Install assembled components such as circuit breaker panels, switches, integrated circuits, harness assemblies, light assemblies, diodes, resistors to build aircraft main instrument panel harness assembly per serialized requirements.
  • Build complex electrical assemblies and subassemblies with minimal quality defects at a high productivity rate.
  • Interact with teammates & Pipers Manufacturing Support Teams as well as vendors, equipment suppliers, etc. when appropriate.
  • Rework major discrepancies as necessary. Performs Material Review Board and Standard repairs when needed
  • Provide assistance when required during new product development, design, build and testing.
  • Assist with root cause and corrective action of nonconforming material in order to reduce defects and scrap material.
  • Interface within the department to resolve quality concerns in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Help improve departmental performance by completing cost savings activities such as tooling improvements, eliminating waste, etc.
  • Ability to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor Serves as lead with the ability to guide and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.

Avionics Electrical Technician I($23/hr-$25/hr)

  • Build standard avionics or electrical harness assemblies
  • Develop cut sheets to support production requirements.
  • Inspect and buy off own work using Piper inspection certifications.
  • Maintain the departments compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
  • Rework discrepancies as necessary.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.

  • Perform assembly of complex service parts
  • May be required to plan and construct complex electrical/ electronic harness build-up boards.
  • Inspect and buy off other teammates work using Piper inspection certifications.
  • Conduct training and cross training of teammates to attain acceptable levels of performance.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.

Senior Avionics Electrical Technician($30/hr)

  • Interpret new electrical harness and assembly drawings, determine proper assembly requirements, and coordinate harness board design and sub-assembly requirements
  • Complete assembly of instrument panels and loading of software
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Avionics/Electrical, and Manufacturing on the design function and system operation.
  • Interact with teammates & Pipers Manufacturing Support Teams as well as vendors, equipment suppliers, etc. when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Related avionics electrical experience requirements:

o Avionics Electrical Assembler I: 2 years of experience

o Avionics Electrical Assembler II: 2 5 years of experience

o Senior Avionics Electrical Assembler: 5 years of experience

o Avionics Electrical Technician I: 2 years of experience

o Avionics Electrical Technician II: 2 5 years of experience

o Senior Avionics Electrical Technician: 5 years of experience

Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Use of hand and power tools as required

Follow all safety procedures

Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).

Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions
