AVIONICS MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTOR

 

TASK DESCRIPTION:

  Under the direction of the OIC, Technical Training Schools,

the Avionics Maintenance Instructor will provide Avionics Maintenance instruction to the KAF and Contractor personnel to include the following areas:

 

  1. Basic electricity and electronics fundamentals
  2. Basic Avionics
  3. Avionics troubleshooting
  4. Required Avionics Technical Publications
  5. Basic avionics corrosion control
  6. Other related Maintenance courses requested by the KAF.

 

The Incumbent will provide this service to KAF personnel.  In addition to formal classroom instruction, the incumbent will perform site audits as requested by the Technical Control Branch which may be followed by extra instruction, OJT, or advice to the KAF or Maintenance practice in line with KAMP 4790.2 Series guidelines.

 

TASK REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Develop, implement, and teach Avionics Maintenance courses to KAF personnel as required.

 

  1. Provide Avionics Maintenance OJT as required by the KAF.

 

  1. Provide assistance to other departments as related to Aircraft Avionics Maintenance.

 

MINIMUM PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as an Aircraft Avionics Maintenance technician involving military aircraft.

 

  1. Advanced technical background in military aircraft maintenance to include Avionics system operation, servicing, and recurring inspection requirements.

 

  1. Hands-on experience in the planning of periodic maintenance requirements to include criteria, procedures, and associated documentation.

 

  1. Proven experience as a technical instructor with qualifications in Methods of Instruction.

 

  1. Strong skills in curriculum development and lesson plan design are required to adapt courses to KAF training.

 

  1. Proficient in the use of personal computer word processing programs.

 

  1. A U.S. Secret security clearance is required.
