- Under general supervision, Aircraft Maintenance Specialists perform inspections, repair and overhaul on agency aircraft such as light and medium class rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft in order to ensure the safety of passengers and equipment engaged in flight operations; and maintain and update technical data related to aircraft maintenance and applicable federal regulations.
- Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
- This Division of Forestry's mission is to provide professional natural resource and wildland management services to enhance, conserve and protect forest, rangeland and watershed values, endangered plants and other native flora.
- The agency operates one Bell Helicopter 212S Eagle Copters conversion, one Bell 205 and one military surplus UH-1H helicopter.
- The incumbent will perform inspections, repair and overhaul on agency operated helicopters meeting FAA standards.
- All work is to ensure the safety of crew, passengers and equipment engaged in flight operations.
- The incumbent maintains and updates technical data related to aircraft maintenance and applicable federal regulations and performs other duties as assigned.
- The incumbent may be required to travel on fire assignments and other division missions throughout the State.
