Job Description
Join our team as an Associate Structures Mechanic and contribute to the C-17 team in San Antonio, TX. This role requires a skilled professional to perform structural modifications and repairs with precision and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation on critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
- Locate blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.
- Conduct sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving of structures according to standard repair processes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements for structural modification/repair.
- Utilize tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and replace components as necessary.
- Modify and repair aircraft sheet metal/structures and evaluate functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
- Use aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, and micrometers.
- Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.
- Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required.
- Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
- Ensure safe working environment via Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems applications.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet cost/schedule targets.
- Pass an assessment at the end of the training cycle.
- Comply with SA Site Tool and FOD procedures.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.
- 4+ years of experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- 4+ years of experience using structures hand tools like drills, pancake adapters, and rivet guns.
- 4+ years of experience in heavy structures: locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening structures to aircraft.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance (C-17 or Depot Level).
- Experience with titanium aircraft structures.
- Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.05 - $43.05/hr.
