JOB FUNCTION SUMMARY

Assigned to maintain T45 aircraft in support of the T&E mission for VX-23 and NAVAIRWARCENACDIV as part of the Retrofit Integration Testing (RIT) Team at NASW Pax River.

Performs repair and replacement of Airframe and Powerplant systems components and accessories. All work is performed in accordance with applicable manufacturers maintenance manuals, company directives and other approved data. May be required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.

Familiarization with OPNAV 4790.2 Series and other applicable Navy Instructions, Manufacturer Manuals and Company Instructions.

  • Must be familiar with the ISO 9110B Program.
  • Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.
  • Knowledge of materials used and safety precautions as applicable to usage.
  • Must have valid state operators license and be able to pass the Government licensing requirements.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
  • Performs aircraft maintenance to include operational test, repair, modification and replacement of aircraft electrical/avionics systems. Applies technical knowledge to solve problems and to provide technical assistance as required.
  • Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft electrical/avionics systems. Demonstrates knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment. Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems. Possess a thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention and treatment of corrosion.
  • Must be customer oriented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs the troubleshooting and modifying of airframe/PP and subsystems components in support of T&E IAW NAVAIR directives.
  • Performs aircraft inventory, acceptance and transfer inspections.
  • Provides technical assistance and guidance as required by the position.
  • Assists in P&E report preparation.
  • May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.
  • Maintain assigned aircraft in accordance with Navy, Manufacturer and Company Instructions.
  • Use provided test equipment and Ground Support Equipment to perform assigned tasks.
  • Read, interpret, and apply instructions from blueprints, schematics and other approved data.
  • Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials and equipment as require.
  • Document work accomplished on Maintenance Action Forms (MAF) and/or NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for adhering to Company Tool Control Program.
  • Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
  • Ensure proper operation and use of special test equipment and Ground Support Equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all work accomplished.
  • May be required to perform simple computer input functions.
  • May be required to travel on Company business related to T45 RIT Test & Evaluation or recovery of T45 out of the local area.


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Must have a minimum of three (3) years documented hands on general experience in aircraft maintenance work-related field, or the military or commercial equivalent. Must be familiar with aircraft systems, tools, drawings, schematics, and normal safety requirements. Must be able to meet any Government/company licensing/qualification requirements for the position. FAA A&P License is desired.

  • Must be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals to identify repair procedures.
  • Must be able to diagnose mechanical or electrical problems.
  • Must be able to remove and replace defective parts, using hand tools or power tools.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • May be required to work weekends, other shifts, and overtime.
  • The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.
  • Some travel will be required.
  • Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS



This classification activity is usually accomplished in a hangar/shop/flight line environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
