Position Summary

Without supervision, level two CMM inspectors demonstrate an expert ability to operate CMM scanners, produce reports and recommend corrective actions to manufacturing and production personnel. In addition, level two CMM inspectors demonstrate an ability to program CMM scanners as well as develop inspection processes and inspection tooling.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Ability to function as a level 3 or 4 dimensional/quality inspector

Complex part, inspection and tooling set up for CMMs

Ability to care and maintenance of CMMs, Probes, and software including training for these relevant processes to lower level inspectors

Ability to complete complex First part inspection of machined parts utilizing CMM’s and or manual inspection methods

Ability to perform intermediate PCDMIS Programming layout

Complete first article inspection reports from CMM results

Ability to complete complex Final inspection of Aerospace product including dimensional and temper inspection

Enter data using Syteline/ESI or other ERP systems as directed

Arrange inspection work queues to identify priority work, move completed work to next staging area including ability to work with all departments to improve quality of product

Ability to problem solve manufacturing methods and quality RCCA to non-conformance of the produce. Lead, identify and segregate non-conforming product

Understand and, under supervision, conduct product verification in accordance with inspection plans and applicable process practices used in the work center

Actively follow instructions as required in all aspects of the work assignment and have a working knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines..

Ability to train others and show proven track record of development of lower leveled inspectors

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Expert knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASME 14.5

Advanced knowledge in 3D Modeling

Advanced knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (running PCDMIS software).

Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Ability to use Syteline/ESI or other ERP systems after instruction

Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others

Attention to detail

Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions

Willingness to learn

Vision test required per customer specifications

Ability to safely meet or exceed production and quality standards.

Ability to thrive in an environment where business and team needs may change to help meet business and customer demands.

Ability to effectively read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, purchase orders, inspection manuals, procedures, and basic math skills

Basic background programming and operating coordinate measuring machines.

Advance experience with AS9102 Form and First Article Inspection (FAI).

Practical experience performing in-process and final inspections.

Demonstrates an understanding of related aerospace ISO and AS requirements.

Required Experience:

At least 5-8 years aerospace manufacturing experience

At least 5+ years of experience with CMMs

8+ years of quality experience preferred

Level of Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $18 to $30 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
