What is the position The Repair Specialist is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective management of component repairs of aircraft maintenance parts.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure component repair management best practices, pricing, and delivery schedules meet Company requirements and are consistently reviewed for cost criteria and savings opportunities.
- Perform technical evaluation of component quotations, including teardown reports, and repair feasibility assessments.
- Manage component-level vendor contracts for low- to moderate-impact repairs, including negotiation, pricing review, and vendor engagement to optimize cost, turnaround time, and operational reliability. Author and maintain repair decision matrices.
- Manage repairs, exchanges, expediting, routing, and communications/coordination with Purchasing and Material Planning relating to AOG and critical parts.
- Coordinate with Material Planning to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained on repairable parts.
- Monitor aircraft rotable parts requirements to ensure aircraft maintenance schedules are fully supported.
- Assist the Materials Department budgeting process and support the selected accounts for accuracy and controllable variances.
- Facilitate process improvement by developing and modifying Repair procedures in support of Maintenance and Finance initiatives.
- Attend Maintenance meetings involving interdepartmental coordination, procedures, and/or materials planning use.
- Ensure departmental compliance regarding FAA regulations, hazardous materials documentation, and Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the Director of Material Planning & Repairs is briefed fully regarding non-routine problems.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director Material Planning & Repairs.
- Regular attendance is essential for all positions at CommuteAir.

General requirements & qualifications:
- Previous experience in procurement, component repair, logistics and/or supply chain operations.
- Previous experience with procurement/inventory management computer systems
- Familiar with aviation and aviation maintenance terminology including ATA chapters.
- Demonstrate the ability & knowledge to perform duties of this position.
- Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures for working with internal & external vendor accounts.
- Fluent in the English Language, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrate a positive, ethical, and professional attitude.
- High Level of attention to detail.
- Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly.
- Legally authorized to work in the USA.

Visual Acuity:
Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading.
Environmental Conditions:
Inside environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
