Job Title: Composite Technician
Job DescriptionJoin our team in Briggs, TX, north of Cedar Park, to help us build rockets. As a Composite Technician, you will manufacture all production and development primary structures, tanks, and secondary structures from raw fiber through delivery to the integration line. This position is integral to the manufacturing line of the only American all-composite rocket, setting us apart from competitors. We value diverse knowledge in composite manufacturing and offer this opportunity for our 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- Train and mentor newer composite technicians on industry standards and specific processes.
- Provide production perspective on development hardware and support planning for production readiness.
- Support con-ops and tooling design meetings for future products.
- Improve composite operations and product designs in collaboration with engineering.
- Drive efficiency projects and constantly improve fabrication operations.
- Perform all steps in making aerospace-grade composite parts, including working with carbon using hand tools to high tolerance.
- Conduct bonding operations such as abrading, cleaning, and preparing adhesives.
- Hand lamination of various materials including carbon, glass, Kevlar, film adhesives, and foam or metallic cores.
- Create vacuum bags for room temperature debulk and oven cures.
- Material handling in accordance with AS9100 standards.
- Maintain shop organization and cleanliness.
Essential Skills- 4+ years experience in glass or carbon lay-up shop.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and meticulous craftsmanship.
- Attention to detail and the ability to drill and lay out precision holes.
- Proficiency in pneumatic tools, hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
- Familiarity with drilling, laminating, and assembly prints.
- Experience with material data sheets and the use of personal protective equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Automatic fiber placement, filament winding, and thermoforming experience is beneficial.

Work Environment
Work in a climate-controlled environment on a 2nd Shift schedule: Monday-Thursday from 4PM-2:30AM and Friday from 2PM-10PM, with a 10 shift differential.

This is a Contract position based out of Bertram, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
