Job Description:

The composites technicians who work on aircraft, components, or related parts of aircraft are responsible for performing work outlined on applicable work forms in accordance with company policies and procedures, manufacturer’s manuals, and FAA requirements 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accomplish all work assigned in accordance with the policies, procedures, and specifications set forth in the Repair Station Manual, other customer maintenance policies and procedures as applicable, the appropriate manufacturer’s manuals, and technical data, and all current Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Must be knowledgeable and familiar with the Repair Station Manual, customer maintenance policies and procedures as applicable, and all current Federal Aviation Regulations as they pertain to the performance of their duties.
  • Ensure that all work for which they are responsible is properly performed, inspected, and documented. 
  • Maintain an attitude of alertness concerning possible unsafe or hazardous conditions or practices.
  • Report all hazardous conditions, practices, or unsafe shop equipment to the Composites Lead or Structures Supervisor 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area. This includes ensuring that parts removed are properly tagged and controlled, shop supplies and equipment are put away when not in use, and all other responsibilities related to shop cleanliness 
  • Properly and efficiently use all tools, parts, equipment, and materials provided by the Repair Station 
  • Properly sign, record, and assume responsibility for all work done. Non-certificated technicians must have the work countersigned by a certificated technician. A Repairman is limited in this aspect to duties allowed under the limitations of their Repairman Certificate. 
  • Properly document all on-the-job training received during the performance of his duties, and 
  • Serve as a role model for ethical behavior, maintain, promote, and support the mission of Empire Airlines.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • The Composites Technician must have the appropriate experience as evidenced by employment history, training, certification, personal interview, or practical tests to perform in the position.  
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable record through Empire’s policy.
  • Must adhere to the company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work will be performed in a hangar environment and may require considerable outside work with up to 25% travel. 
  • Will be exposed to noise and hazards associated with aircraft maintenance. 
  • Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, and stooping for extended periods of time. 
  • May be required to lift up to 80 pounds, plus ladder/lift usage. 
  • Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing, and hearing to conduct business.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Starting hourly base pay range (DOE): $21.00-$32.40
  • Qualifying hourly pay Incentives: $1 A&P
  • Expected starting hourly Total: $21.00 to $33.40
  • Annual increases and additional incentives once qualified.
