About Phyxius Aircraft Services
Phyxius Aircraft Services is a turboprop-focused aviation company based at Gwinnett County Airport (KLZU) in the Atlanta area. Our mission is to deliver safety-first maintenance and operational support that keeps aircraft flying and owners moving forward.
We specialize in turboprop aircraft with particular expertise in Beechcraft King Air and other small turbine engine platforms, and we are continuing to expand our technical depth across specialized aircraft including the Piaggio P.180 Avanti.
Phyxius is building a maintenance organization defined by safety discipline, technical precision, and honest communication with aircraft owners. Our goal is simple: provide the kind of maintenance operation that experienced operators trust without hesitation.
This requires exceptional technicians—and exceptional leadership.
The Opportunity
Phyxius is seeking a Director of Aircraft Maintenance (DOM) who will lead and shape the company’s maintenance operation at KLZU.
This role combines technical leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on aircraft maintenance. The Director of Maintenance will serve as both the technical authority for the shop and the lead mechanic on complex inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting events.
We are looking for a professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, maintains uncompromising safety standards, and is energized by the opportunity to build and lead a high-integrity maintenance operation from the ground up.
For the right individual, this position offers a rare opportunity: the ability to run a maintenance operation with the autonomy and pride of ownership, supported by a growing aviation company committed to safety, quality, and long-term industry credibility.

- Establish and reinforce a culture of safety, craftsmanship, and accountability
- Mentor technicians and guide the development of the maintenance team as the operation grows
- Maintain strong professional relationships with aircraft owners and operators
- Contribute to the continued development of Phyxius as a trusted turboprop maintenance provider
Aircraft Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of turbine aircraft maintenance experience
- 5+ years in a senior maintenance leadership role (DOM, Chief Inspector, Lead Mechanic, or equivalent) preferred
- Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate as well as inspector authorization
- Extensive hands-on experience working on turboprop aircraft
- Strong experience with Beechcraft King Air aircraft, light turbine class jets required
- Experience with Cessna Citation aircraft preferred
- Interest in developing expertise in Piaggio P.180 Avanti aircraft
- Demonstrated ability to maintain FAA regulatory compliance and maintenance documentation standards as well as CRS 145 Repair Station development
- Candidates should currently be actively working on turbine aircraft and demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency.
Reputation & Industry Credibility
Phyxius is seeking a maintenance leader with a proven reputation for safety, quality, and technical judgment.
Candidates who have developed strong relationships with aircraft owners, operators, or fleet managers are strongly encouraged to apply. Mechanics whose work inspires long-term customer trust represent the type of leadership we value.
Our goal is to build a maintenance operation known for reliability, craftsmanship, and uncompromising safety standards.

Phyxius supports continued technical growth and platform specialization.
The Director of Maintenance may participate in:
- Platform-specific aircraft training
- Advanced turboprop systems training
- CRS 145 Repair Station development
