Engineer - Field 3 (Kaneohe Hawaii)

Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to ensure systems meet customer specifications. Will install, inspect and operate systems to ensure proper operation. As needed, will troubleshoot systems to determine technical solutions for complex problems. Reviews maintenance data collection summaries to determine trends and production effectiveness, then recommends solutions to company or customer representatives. Must be capable of leading teams in complex maintenenace tasks using effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and assembly diagrams. Must be able to operate and navigate PC based computers. Will be expected to conduct technical training and briefings with customers and company representatives. Will function as the local on-site representative to customer’s organization.
Must have minimum 7 years experience with H53 rotor wing aircraft. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair complex avionics, electrical and structural systems utilizing engineering drawings, NAVAIR maintenance manuals and wiring diagrams. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to organize work tasks and give clear direction to assigned team members. Must have have knowledge and proficiency with NALCOMIS and OOMA. Previous QA or CDI experience preferred. A &P license preferrred but not required.
Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. Must be able to work at heights 70 feet above the ground. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold.
Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, dust. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time.
Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as picking, pinching, typing. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
Must be capable of routinely performing industry standard ambidextriosities required to complete tasks. Must be able to lift/ maneuver up to 50 pounds. Must be able and willing to enter and work in confined spaces, such as aircraft fuel tanks and beneath floor panels with clearances of 18” – 24”.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Government Secret clearance.
