Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Experienced F/A-18 Structures Mechanic to join our F-18 Modification Team at Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana, Virginia.
This candidate will work with a dynamic team of specialists performing F/A-18 modifications. This candidate will perform avionics/electrical modifications on a day shift position.
Position Responsibilities:
- Able to perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
- Ability and understanding of locating blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.
- Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes.
- Demonstrates the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair.
- Experienced in the use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS Oceana, VA.
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience with aircraft fuselage or wing structures assembly, maintenance or repair
- 3+ years of experience with military fighter aircraft maintenance

Typical Education/ Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years of related work, Bachelor, etc.).
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range: $59,500 - $80,500
