Job Description

Join us in performing maintenance operations on aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier, and other directives. Support aircraft modification and execute Airframe & Powerplant repairs, including potential Fuel Cell work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance operations on aircraft and related equipment as per directives.
  • Perform Airframe & Powerplant repairs and modifications.
  • Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Set up and use pneumatic tools such as screw guns and torque wrenches.
  • Utilize common hand tools including wrenches and safety wire pliers.
  • Remove and replace panels, floorboards, insulation, and sealing compounds using mechanical fasteners.
  • Familiarize with large aircraft components like airframe and powerplant.
  • Remove, replace, and check out aircraft components and assemblies.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, and parts requests.
  • Wear required safety equipment while performing duties.
  • Work on all shifts, unaffected by weather or physical conditions.
  • Order necessary parts, pan stock, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, tool control, and facility standards.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervision and management.

Essential Skills

  • Aircraft maintenance experience, including depot level repair and overhaul.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
  • Proficiency in setting up and using pneumatic tools and torque wrenches.
  • Experience with common hand tools and mechanical fasteners.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Documenting maintenance actions clearly.
  • Capability to perform duties with required safety equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with large aircraft components such as airframe and powerplant.
  • Ability to work on all shifts without weather or physical condition encumbrances.
  • Experience in ordering necessary tools, materials, and equipment.

Work Environment

Work in a military hangar with open-bay, non-climate-controlled conditions. Availability for 1st Shift (M-F 5:30am-2:30pm) and 2nd Shift (M-F 2pm-10:30pm) is required. Receive an annual $100 expense for Steel Toed Shoes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
