PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a qualified FAA-Certified Aviation Mechanic/A&P to support aircraft maintenance operations in Mobile, Alabama. The Aviation Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, servicing, cleaning, and maintaining aircraft systems in compliance with FAA regulations, client requirements, and industry standards for workmanship and safety.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with FAA-approved data and company procedures
• Maintain safety of flight as the top priority while producing airworthy aircraft
• Accurately and legibly complete all required internal company forms and aircraft maintenance documentation in compliance with company, customer, and FAA requirements
• Ensure proper use of correct tools, verifying tooling is serviceable and calibrated when required
• Locate, interpret, and apply appropriate technical data during maintenance activities
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor

Safety & Policy Compliance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area for personnel and aircraft
• Follow all required safety precautions including use of hearing and eye protection, chemical handling, engine and propeller safety, fall protection, and confined-space awareness
• Comply with all OSHA safety regulations
• Participate in required on-the-job training
• Observe all company safety procedures and personnel policies
• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Training in Airframe and Powerplant with emphasis on Structures and Composites

Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in general aviation maintenance
• Prior avionics experience preferred
• Familiarity with turboprop aircraft is a plus

Licensure / Certifications

• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic certification

Communication Skills

• Proficiency in spoken and written English required
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required

Travel

• Limited potential for domestic and international travel

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, squat/kneel for extended periods
• Manual dexterity and ability to work in confined spaces
• Adequate vision and hearing to safely perform maintenance tasks
