Job Description:

Precision Turbines Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) subcontract is to support the C-38 Aircraft which are operated by AIRTEVRON TWO ZERO (VX-20) of the U.S. Navy originating from NAS Patuxent River, Maryland.  Authorized scheduled and unscheduled on-aircraft maintenance will be performed by the Prime contractor.  Precision Turbines provides support actions, which include off-equipment repair sources, depot-level modifications, and depot field teams required for operating and maintaining the aircraft, aircraft subsystems and support equipment, and operation of the Contractor Operated Main Base Supply (COMBS).

Job Title: Maintenance Manager / Field Services Representative/Site Lead

Bargaining Unit/Union Position: Yes (IAMAW)

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Field Services Representative/Site Lead will be responsible for the following:

  • Hold & maintain a valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate with an ability to obtain an Inspection Authorization (IA) certification.
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) and informal classroom instruction in operation, line maintenance, installation, removal, and system troubleshooting with special emphasis placed on safety.
  • Provide instructions on the use and squadron-level maintenance of primary and special tools, material handling equipment, support, and test equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance on the applicability of design improvements, maintenance, and operational problems.
  • Assist in mishap investigation and provide reports based on investigation.
  • Participate in Naval technical publication reviews.
  • Assist the Prime contractor and the Navy in the preparation of Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR)
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to the MOB Unit Crash Recovery Teams.
  • Participate in check flights and operational flights as requested by the Prime contractor.
  • Render, as requested by the Prime contractor, technical analysis and assistance to establish maintenance and inspection procedures, improve the quality of maintenance, and resolve difficult or unusual maintenance problems.
  • Provide guidance to VX-20 pilots on peculiarities and characteristics of the C-38 aircraft as requested by the Prime contractor.
  • Function as a liaison through which information related to maintenance and operational problems, originating with the manufacturer, can be quickly disseminated to C-38 operation and maintenance personnel.
  • Participate in aircraft modification reviews.
  • Review Airframe, Component, and Engine Service Bulletins and make recommendations on incorporation.
  • Provide support and expertise to the Prime Contractor and Navy organizational-level maintenance personnel in order to solve complex maintenance problems.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Precision Turbines Incorporated site office at NAS Patuxent River.
  • Oversee the duties and responsibilities of the COMBS Lead and Supply Clerk.
  • Maintain working interfaces with customer and supplier personnel and organizations in support of this contract.
  • Assist the Program Manager with day-to-day program operations of the COMBS office.
  • Assist the Program Manager in the preparation of reports & data required for contract execution.
  • Be cognizant of the daily tracking and accomplishment of the following reliability standards:
    • Not Mission Capable Supply (NMCS) rate of 6% or less
    • Partial Mission Capable Supply (PMCS) rate of 10% or less
    • CONUS Aircraft on Ground (AOG) status parts will be provided within twenty-four (24) hours counter-to-counter.
Job Requirements:
  • Must possess an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate with an ability to obtain an Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience with Gulfstream G100/ASTRA SPX or similar aircraft.
  • Experience troubleshooting state-of-the-art integrated avionics systems.
  • Experience in a military environment preferred.
  • Possession of a current Public Trust or higher security clearance preferred.
  • Must be proficient with computers.
  • Must possess effective organization and time management skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
