Flight Readiness General MechanicKeep Aircraft Mission-Ready. Keep the World Moving.About the RolePDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Flight Readiness General Mechanic to support a leading aviation industry partner, Global Services, at their CMC team in Victorville, CA.
In this critical, hands-on role, you will help ensure aircraft are fully mission-ready by performing advanced maintenance, system installations, troubleshooting, and structural modifications. Your expertise directly supports flight safety, operational readiness, and on-time delivery of aircraft performance standards.
This is a 12-month full-time consultant opportunity for mechanics who thrive in high-performance, safety-driven environments and are ready to work on complex aircraft systems at a depot level.
What You’ll Do Day-to-DayAs a Flight Readiness General Mechanic, your work will include:
- Installing, removing, and rigging flight control systems
- Performing landing gear maintenance and aircraft servicing operations
- Completing component change-outs including servo pumps, filters, and engine components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications
- Executing structural modifications and repairs based on retrofit requirements
- Accessing aircraft data systems to initiate parts requests and log discrepancies
- Diagnosing and correcting mechanical malfunctions in assembly and maintenance processes
- Using precision measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality compliance
- Working safely under Hazardous Energy Control and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Supporting avionics, electrical, and structural teams to meet cost and schedule targets
- Working in confined spaces, climbing ladders, and handling loads up to 35 lbs
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of Depot-Level or heavy general aircraft maintenance experience
- 5+ years working with aircraft systems (hydraulic, flight controls, landing gear, fuel systems, engines, interiors/exteriors)
- 5+ years reading schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and SOPs
- Ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent education and experience combination)
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and regulatory compliance
Preferred Qualifications- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification
- Heavy C/D Check experience
- Experience with 787 aircraft
- Depot-level modification or heavy maintenance background
- Experience performing engine runs and borescope inspections
- Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and elevated work platforms

Pay Details: $34.99 per hour
