Job Description

Perform assembly and disassembly operations on aircraft fuel systems and equipment in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier, and other directives. Conduct operational checks of aircraft fuel systems and components with or without production aids. Assemble and test articles for use in system testing, development, and modification of aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and disassembly operations on aircraft fuel systems and components.
  • Conduct operational checks of aircraft fuel systems and components.
  • Assemble and test articles for system testing and development.
  • Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, and test procedures.
  • Set up and use precision measuring instruments such as torque wrenches and gauges.
  • Work with hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Operate various ground support equipment such as hydraulic test carts and nitrogen/oxygen carts.
  • Fuel, defuel, pencil drain, and leak check fuel systems.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Remove and install equipment and components using blueprints.
  • Identify, clean, and treat corrosion.
  • Communicate effectively with other employees and supervision.
  • Document maintenance and repair actions clearly.
  • Perform duties while wearing required safety equipment.
  • Perform duties on all shifts without encumbrances due to weather or location.
  • Order parts, pan stock, tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Comply with all health and safety, tool control, contracts, and facilities regulations.
Essential Skills
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics, assembly methods, and shop practice.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments.
  • Proficiency with hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Experience operating ground support equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Documentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in related duties.
  • Ability to work from drawings, sketches, and sample parts.

Work Environment

Work in an open-bay, non-climate-controlled environment. The position requires flexibility to work any shift. Enjoy benefits like a $100 yearly expense for steel-toed shoes. The first shift operates Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 2:30 pm, and the second shift operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with optional overtime available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
