Job Description

We are seeking a skilled GSE Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Ground Support Equipment such as baggage carts and deicing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and be responsible for maintaining high productivity levels while accurately completing vehicle repair orders in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform light and heavy repairs on GSE equipment.
• Diagnose and repair engine mechanical issues for diesel, gas, and LP engines.
• Troubleshoot A/C and D/C electrical systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including reading hydraulic flow schematics.
• Utilize computer software to diagnose Powertrain Management Systems.
• Repair 80 & 48 volt DC systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair Airstart systems.
• Engage in ongoing training to enhance equipment knowledge.
• Maintain required productivity levels.
• Complete vehicle repair orders accurately and promptly.

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical testing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read schematics.
• Proficiency in performing electrical testing and troubleshooting.
• Possession of a basic set of tools.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in automotive, diesel, or electrical work.
• Previous GSE experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines, with 3 years preferred.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Vocational training certificate or equivalent work experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to attain an Airport issued ID badge

Work Environment

Work in a covered hangar environment that is heated during winter and equipped with large fans for cooling in summer. Collaborate with a team of seven mechanics on each shift. Additional large projects are conducted at an off-site location with similar conditions. Enjoy being part of a leading aviation company with operations across the USA.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, Massachusetts.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
