Job Summary:
The Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic performs structural inspections, repairs, fabrication, and installation activities on aircraft sheet metal components and assemblies. This position supports aircraft maintenance operations by completing structural repairs, documenting maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards.
Job Details:
- MRO/Part 145 Repair Station
- Contract w/opportunity to go Direct
- Variable Shifts (Must be Flexible)
- Must have own tools
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- $42.00/hour
Job Duties & Functions:
- Perform inspections and evaluate structural damage on aircraft to determine appropriate repair methods
- Fabricate, repair, and install sheet metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and FAA repair documentation
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures throughout maintenance activities
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers, to verify repair accuracy and alignments
- Remove, replace, and repair aircraft skin, frames, bulkheads, and structural components
- Document maintenance activities and completed work in maintenance logs and reports
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards
Physical Requirements & Environment
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Work in tight, confined, and elevated spaces
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment for extended periods
- Perform aircraft structural repair activities in maintenance environments
